Damian Zari began drawing as early as he can remember. He notably surpassed his peers in art education in school, understanding color complementation and perspective before he reached junior high. Greatly influenced by the works of Frank Frazetta, Michelangelo, Da Vinci, and the various art in Heavy Metal Magazine, Damian spent the many hours of his youth mastering the pen. As his practice strived toward perfection, he gained employment with an airbrushing company in southern California, where he learned the fine art of customer satisfaction. Airbrushing and silkscreening shirts and banners to client specifications in a matter of minutes, Damian's ability grew more versatile.

Damian moved back to his birthtown of Portland, Oregon in 1997 to be closer to family. He has since had many commissions including airbrushing, logo design and pen & ink portraits. In 2007 he finally "stopped going" to his cubicle job and became a vendor at the famous Portland Saturday Market. He is currently studying at Forbidden Body Art to become a tattoo artist. He lives in southeast Portland with his wife.
